Como resultado de nuestra alianza con Orientación a la Familia, hemos programado una serie de charlas y talleres para padres en diferentes instituciones educativas, esto con el fin de fortalecer las relaciones entre padres e hijos y entre las parejas primordialmente.  La salud emocional de los padres afecta directamente el comportamiento de los hijos, por eso estamos invirtiendo mayores esfuerzos en este campo.  En esta ocasión participaron 75 padres de familia, profesores y directivos de la escuela, nuestro capellán Rogelio Morales Castillo tuvo a cargo la exposición.As a result of our partnership with the Family Guidance, we have scheduled a series of talks and workshops for parents in different educational institutions, this in order to strengthen relationships between parents and children and between couples primarily. The parents’ emotional health directly affects children’s behavior, so we are investing more in this field. On this occasion, attended by 75 parents, teachers and school officials, our chaplain Rogelio Castillo Morales was in charge of exposure.

280 niños entre los 5 y 7 años de edad, compartieron con nosotros de una gran celebración. Muchos juegos, concursos y sonrisas fueron unos de los ingredientes principales.  Desde hace 4 años apoyamos este kínder y cada vez trabajamos con nuevas generaciones, 8 grupos cada uno con alrededor de 35 pequeños conforman esta institución.  Cada uno de estos niños participará de nuestra fiesta navideña “2009 Sonrisas”.

280 children between 5 and 7 years old, shared with us a great celebration. Many games, contests and smiles were among the main ingredients. Since 4 years support this kindergarten and increasingly work with new generations, 8 groups, each with about 35 small form this institution. Each of these children attend our Christmas party “2009 Smiles”.

En cooperación con la iglesia Getsemaní de alto castro, llevamos a cabo esta actividad para toda la comunidad. Juegos para los niños, un torneo de fut-5, deliciosas comidas, música y mucho compañerismo y servicio, fueron algunos de los ingredientes de un increíble día, donde todos los vecinos y asistentes lograron percibir la visión de esta iglesia en acción. La idea del pastor y los miembros de esta congregación, es utilizar al máximo todas sus instalaciones para el servicio y beneficio de la comunidad, objetivo que en este evento se alcanzo. Agradecemos a todos los que participaron y animamos a esta iglesia a continuar realizando actividades de este tipo “Una Acción vale mas que mil palabras”.In cooperation with the high castro Getsemaní Church, we are conducting this activity for the whole community. Games for children, a round of fut-5, great food, music and fellowship and service were among the ingredients of an incredible day, where all the neighbors and attendees were able to see the vision of this church in action. The idea of the pastor and members of this congregation is fully utilize all its facilities to service and benefit the community, a goal that was achieved in this event. We thank all who participated and encourage this church to continue with such activities “Actions speak louder than words.”

En convenio con el cuerpo administrativo de esta institución, desarrollamos una actividad recreativa para todos los niños, después de una mañana de mucha diversión, culminamos con la presentación de los equipos inscritos para la competencia de baile, de los cuales escogimos dos representantes que participarán en la gran final inter-escuelas en noviembre.  Estos son los primeros finalistas que desde ya empiezan a prepararse para mostrar un buen espectáculo.

In agreement with the administrative body of this institution, we developed a leisure activity for all children, after a morning of great fun, culminating in the presentation of the teams entered for the dance competition, which we chose two representatives to participate in the inter-school finals in November. These are the first finalists that already begin to prepare for a good show.

Con el fin de incentivar las artes y motivar el buen uso del tiempo libre, estamos desarrollando este torneo de Baile Inter-escuelas.  Estos ritmos y movimientos nos han acercado a la población más rebelde y difícil de las comunidades, tristemente este género se ve relacionado por los medios con pandillas y delincuentes, siendo esto una gran equivocación, ya que en ellos hay más talento, destreza y trabajo en equipo que puntos negativos.  Esta es la manera de expresión que muchos de nuestros jóvenes han escogido, así que queremos invertir nuestro esfuerzo en ello. Usaremos este recurso para tener una Conexión con esta población y de esta manera ganarnos el derecho a ser escuchados.

To encourage the arts and encourage the proper use of leisure time, we are developing this tournament Inter-school dance. These rhythms and movements have brought us to the most rebellious and difficult communities, sadly this kind is related by the media with gangs and criminals, this being a big mistake, because in them there is more talent, skill and work in team negative points. This is the way of expression that many of our young people have chosen, so we want to invest our effort into it. We will use this resource to have a connection with this population and thus earn the right to be heard.

Después de una semana de trabajo en este lugar, participamos con el grupo de música en la actividad de inauguración.  Un buen mensaje, una buena asistencia y un tiempo de compartir, fueron los ingredientes de un inicio de operaciones.  Grandes cosas vienen para esta congregación y esperamos ser parte de ello.After a week of working in this area we participated with the music team in an inauguration event.  A good message, good turn out, and a time to share; were the ingridients to commencing the operations.  Big things are taking place for this congregation and we can’t wait to be a part of it.

Una nueva oportunidad se abre para los miembros de la Comunidad del Este, al tener un nuevo local, más céntrico y estratégico.  Bajo la coordinación de Erick Arroyo, realizamos muchas mejoras a la infraestructura existente, por más de 4 días invertimos 9 horas para crear un ambiente familiar.  Agradecemos a Rogelio Morales por permitirnos ser parte de este cambio y a todo el Staff de Conexion por el arduo trabajo y disposición.A new opportunity has opened for the members of Comunidad del Este, to have a new more central and strategic location.  Under the leadership of Erick Arroyo, we have improved the existing infrastructure. for more than 4 days we invested 9 hours to create a familiar atmosphere.  We want to thank Rogelio Morales for permiting us to be a part of this change and to all the Conexión staff for their arduous work and disposition.

En este centro infantil se atienden diariamente a 50 pequeños de escasos recursos y hemos desarrollado una buena relación con su directiva.  Anteriormente pintamos toda el área de comedor y cocina y esta vez llegamos para embellecer su fachada, próximamente regresaremos para finiquitar todo el exterior del edificio.  Contribuir con el ambiente de este hogar, beneficiará a los niños y a los cientos de personas que recurren al servicio médico en el Ebais que se encuentra al lado.We have been able to build a relationship with the director of this childrens center with limited resources and 50 children that attend daily. In the past we painted the entire cafeteria and kitchen, this time we came to fix up the front of the building, we will return again to finish the outside of the building.  To contribute to the atmosphere of the center, it will benifit the children and the hundreds of people that turn to the medical service in Ebais that is found by their side.

En respuesta a la petición del Director Sandro Jarquín, viajamos al norte del país, donde realizamos una recreación para los 200 niños de su institución, fueron dos días de mucho trabajo, bajo un intenso calor, la comunidad participó como observadores, pero de igual manera fueron impactados por la actitud de servicio que mostró cada uno de los voluntarios de Conexión, agradecemos al director y al cuerpo docente por su increíble atención.In response to the request of Director Sandro Jarquin, we traveled to Northern Costa Rica where we hosted an event for the 200 students, it was two days of hard work and intense heat, the community participated as onlookers and in doing so were impacted by the atitudes and service each of the Conexión volunteers showed.  We are thankful for the director and the teaching staff for their attentiveness.
