Es una gran bendición para nosotros presentarles a nuestros nuevos colaboradores y representantes de nuestro ministerio en la ciudad de los vientos, Michael & Lisa Cantón, quienes a partir de ahora estarán representando a Conexión en diferentes actividades y eventos. Damos gracias a Dios por el deseo de Michael & Lisa al querer formar parte activa de esta gran familia. En los siguientes días daremos inicio al desarrollo de  varios proyectos y próximamente inauguraremos nuestras oficinas en Chicago, acompañadas de una tienda virtual donde se ofrecerán todos nuestros productos quedando al alcance de un solo clic. Esta vez tratamos de centralizar nuestro trabajo en Chicago y resultó ser una gran idea, ya que logramos contactar muchísimas instituciones y compartimos nuestra visión con personas nuevas. Como resultado de nuestra última visita a Chapel Hill, la señorita Bárbara Kosny, una buena amiga y voluntaria en varias ocasiones de nuestro ministerio, nos concertó una reunión con el departamento de misiones de su iglesia Chapel Hill Bible Church, ese día iniciamos conversaciones con Khou Xiong, Directora del departamento, quien nos comentó el deseo que tenía la iglesia de trabajar fuertemente con la comunidad hispana de la zona. En ese momento pensar en enviar uno de nuestros voluntarios era algo pretencioso, pero después de 4 meses Dios inquietó el corazón de una de nuestras colaboradoras con respecto a esta idea y ahora este sueño es una realidad, hace más de un mes, la vocalista de nuestro grupo de alabanza, Mónica Calderón se convirtió en la primera misionera enviada por Conexión a los Estados Unidos y su tiempo allá ha sido de gran bendición para muchos, en especial para nosotros, ya que el tener a alguno de nosotros compartiendo nuestra visión con otros hermanos en otro país es un privilegio. Esperamos que todas las expectativas sean cumplidas y lo más importante que con cada paso que Mónica realice el nombre de nuestro Señor sea exaltado. Culminamos aquí la gira de fiestas para las escuelas en el día del niño, todo el cuerpo estudiantil participó felizmente de nuestros juegos y actividades y todos disfrutamos de una mañana llena de alegría, para cerrar este evento, realizamos la tercera eliminatoria de la competencia “las calles 09”, la concurrencia de grupos no fue mucha, pero la gran muestra de talento que mostraron los muchachos, hizo que valiera la pena esperar la presentación. Dos grupos más pasaron a la gran final y estos son los nombres de los equipos clasificados, los cuales enfrentarán una dura y exigente prueba el siguiente mes.

Aprovechando la concurrencia de los padres de familia a las celebraciones del día de la independencia, la directora sugirió que realizáramos esta actividad eliminatoria para contar con una buena cantidad de público, cada uno de los 6 grupos participantes realizaron su interpretación y mostraron un gran talento y el resultado de muchas horas de ensayo.  Dentro del jurado contamos con jóvenes que practican regularmente este baile y uno de ellos hizo una pequeña demostración, poniéndole mas picante a la competencia. A diferencia de la pasada eliminatoria, la decisión final no fue fácil, de esta escuela salieron 2 grupos representantes con un nivel muy alto, nos da gusto saber que nos volverán a deleitar con sus puesta en escena próximamente.Seizing the concurrence of the parents to the celebration of Independence Day, the director suggested us to make qualifying for this activity have a good amount of the public, each of the 6 participating groups made their interpretation and showed great talent and the result of many hours of rehearsal. Respondiendo a la petición de la directora Xinia Guzmán, en la cual nos solicitaba apoyo para esta fecha, realizamos la recreación para los 700 estudiantes en la plaza de deportes que esta contigua a la escuela, la emoción de los niños al participar de una actividad de esta índole era visible, corrieron, saltaron y disfrutaron de todos los juegos que les preparamos.  Antes del cierre un aguacero nos acompañó pero así y todo el objetivo se alcanzó. Estos niños regularmente participan de nuestra fiesta navideña, pero esta vez logramos incluirlos en esta gira del día del niño.  Este día tuvimos una mañana soleada y con temperaturas muy altas, pero en ningún momento estos fueron factores que impidieron el disfrute y la alegría de estos 200 pequeños.  Gracias a los voluntarios que nos acompañaron y lograron compartir sonrisas y un derroche de energía con los niños de esta zona.These children regularly participate in our Christmas party, but this time we include them on this tour the day of the child.
